Details: Indian Institute Of Technology-Roorkee has had a glorious heritage of 160 years of developing intellectually capable and enterprising minds who have been contributing towards the growth of Science and Technology, developing and harnessing it for the welfare of the nation and mankind .The institute continues to be a pioneer in developing new ideas and innovations and continues to be a source of pride for all Indians. Cognizance is one of its essential endeavors which highlight its belief of developing intellectual excellence and creativity.
Cognizance, the second largest technical fest of India, was initiated in 2003, with an aim of providing opportunities to the student community to exercise its academic acumen and ingenuity and a hub for ground-breaking ideas and solutions. Cognizance 2010 promises to provide a plethora of illuminating workshops, elucidative guest lectures and edifying exhibitions.

With innovation as inspiration and technical knowledge as a tool, Indian Institute Of Technology, Roorkee, aims at bringing a transformation to the very grassroots of our country with the theme of Cognizance 2010 being “TECHNOVATING INDIA”. Fostering a belief in the nation’s resourceful manpower and its immense abilities, we envision a dream of building a better and developed India by grooming its budding minds and providing them with ample opportunity to showcase their talent. Apart from inventing new technologies, we aim at modifying the existing ones to suit the needs of the society at large. A confluence of bright minds and innovative ideas, this year’s Cognizance seeks to act as a platform to serve the basic needs of the common man and focus upon making their life better.

In fact, we have always believed that India is in itself a great nation because of its resourceful manpower. There is huge talent in this country. But it demands proper grooming and then ample chance to showcase itself in more sublime forms. We harbor a dream. The dream of a better INDIA. And we ardently believe that developing better technologies, achieving better educational standards and mitigating climate change can go a long way in realizing this ever bubbling dream.
