Details of BITSMUN ‘ 10:
BITS Pilani organizes the second edition of BITSMUN in February ‘10 wherein 6 committees of the United Nations:
- 1) THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY
- 2) THE SECURITY COUNCIL
- 3) ECONOMIC & SOCIAL COUNCIL
- 4) HUMAN RIGHTS COUNCIL
- 5) UNITED NATIONS ENVIRONMENT PROGRAMME and
- 6) COMMISSION ON SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY FOR DEVELOPMENT
would be simulated.
With over “500? participants from India and abroad, and a prize money of over “Rs. 1.5 LAKHS” , BITSMUN ‘10 promises to be the biggest MUN of the country.
Model United Nations, abbreviated as MUN, is an academic Simulation of the United Nations aimed at educating the participants about the functioning of the United Nations, issues affecting the world today and familiarizing them with the geopolitics and ideology of various countries. This event is the perfect platform for the youth to reflect and deliberate on topics, which will matter the most to them in the near future.
BITSMUN will offer delegates an opportunity to put their extra curricular skills at test against the most luminous minds of the country and abroad. Delegates will be evaluated on the basis of Debating, Speaking and Writing skills, general awareness about world issues, presence of mind and power of persuasion.
