“Tamsoma jyotirgamaya” – From darkness, lead us to light. This ancient Sanskrit prayer is what Amaethon 2010 makes a humble attempt at answering. In its sixth year now, Amaethon has established itself as the biggest and the most reputed Agribusiness summit in Asia Pacific. It is a platform where the foremost thinkers and policy makers from the industry, academia and government come to interact with the eager, young students from some of the best colleges in India. Amaethon sincerely believes that the students, inspired by the thoughts and ideas of these luminaries, would be instrumental in shaping the future landscape of the agribusiness sector in India.
IIM-Ahmedabad, as a pioneering management institution with a commitment towards holistic development of Indian economy, has always recognized the crucial role of Agri-business sector and tried to remain at the helm of research, information and knowledge exchange to benefit its advance.
Amaethon 2010 will further explore the agribusiness sector post the dramatic events of the recent past, when some centuries-old financial behemoths have collapsed, when governments, industries and markets have all changed. It will look into the technologies that will define agribusiness in this changed world. It will discuss the industries that hold the most promise and how to meet their needs. Finally, it will look at the infrastructure that would need to be set up to achieve this transformation.
